I don't have the ham radio to go with it, but this house like many down here was built when that was a more popular (and actually necessary) way to communicate. I mention that because, like many of my neighbors, I have a large triangular steel antenna next to my house. It reaches to the roof (one of the easy ways to climb up there) when not in use, and has a crank which extends the center section up to be about four stories tall. funny the pic you showed reminds me of my grandmothers backyard in Titusville, Fla - When I was about 18 I was walking garbage to her dumpster and lightning hit the antenna which was only about 15 feet from where I was and I could feel the heat come off it. Amazing stuff.
