I don't recall ever seeing a link site with a rule specifically prohibiting use of ssi calls
I don't usually keep lists of LLs I have knocked off my sites. But yesterday I discovered one when checking rules before submitting a new site, and have not yet knocked it off my list. It is: http://pinknpurple.com/webmasters/add.php but I have seen plenty of others.

Sounds like a good way of doing it.
Having a no dynamic pages rule is a bad idea since some WMs (like me) use a Perl script or PHP to count hits and sort the where-froms. In other words saying "no dynamic pages" makes it look like you are trying to hide the fact that you send bugger all hits. And just banning SSI means you ban the more interesting sites and end up just listing a pile of boring template sites.

However I can understand why some LL webmaster's do this, because if you use a script to check (and recheck) submissions instead of doing it yourself, dynamic pages (and SSI alone) can be used to cheat the more basic check scripts.

You can configure your server to also parse .htm and .html
OK can I take a straw pole on this one. I decided against doing this when I thought of it a year or so back, because it is cheating (finding a way to break the rules without the LL webmaster knowing). Do people agree with me on this or do you think doing this is OK (everyone's opinion appreciated, but mostly I would like answers from people who actually run LLs).
