WordPress 2.8 has anyone tried...
Has anyone who has upgraded to 2.8 tried using the auto update for plug-ins?
I've only tried it once, with one plug-in but the script said everything went well and that the plug-in was re-activated. But when checking the plug-in list it was nowhere to be found and the functionality of that plug-in had been removed. The interesting thing is that I had downloaded the original plug-in from the authors site and it immediately showed there was an updated version of the plug-in. I have to other plug-ins showing the same thing but I haven't bothered to use the auto update because I simply don't want to have to go through doing it all over again. The other odd thing I'm seeing is I use wp-dbmanager to maintain my database. Even though I did copy their .htacess into the proper directory I constantly get a message that "Your backup folder MIGHT be visible to the public" with instructions on how to copy the .htaccess into the proper folder. It doesn't affect the operation of the plug-in it's just a nuisance. Any one else seeing any oddities? |
