RE: "So, you believe that America is England's lackey?" No, you misread my post. The point I was making was that most people in the Middle East still think (thought?) that Britain is the superpower and America a colony that helps them out.

RE: "I thought the problem Tony Blair was having was that people thought he was America's lackey." Hell yes, one of my favourite newspaper headlines of recent years was over a drawing of George W. and Smiley Tony which showed Blair as a dog and Bush saying "Good boy, come here, sit, stay, roll over" !
