I wouldnt get to concerned about what youre seeing update on the toolbar or those "check your PR" sites - these are old numbers (around 3 months old normally when they update the toolbar) and do not reflect your current real PR. Just another nice thing Google does for you

I know, the problem is most webmasters use it when considering traffic trades.

Preacher - although I know Ive said it many times - I wouldnt even consider trading links with someone if they based it (or even mentioned PR) on the toolbar Shows me they dont know what they are doing

Basing trades on pr value is obviously silly, and indicates a mind trapped in 2003, or at least someone not up to date.

I don't think mentioning it is a problem. It does at least indicate that google has seen and spidered the site, even if the number itself is a fiction.

But then, I would say that, since I have mentioned pr numbers in trade offers, and expect to do so in the future. I know that a lot of people are still obsessed with pr, so I figure it provides a bit of social lubricant.
