Movie Gallery Questions

I posted this at the tail end of my other thread and I thought I'd tack it here because it seems more on topic:

'I wonder if I am just wasting my time [with TGPs] and I'd do better promoting our videos, since it is 'VileHabitVideo' not 'VileHabitVidCaps'
Next time I edit our movies I'll make some short clips for promotion. Are cybernet's free video galleries at http://www.free-hardcore.html a good model of industry standard for MGP's ?'

My focused question is are photos to accompany the videos in MPGs necessary, or required? Are they of the same standards as TGPs? How many photos should be with the vids?
