I cannot tell you the specifics but it is mainly for history and tracking purposes. I can understand your frustration but in the case of subaccounts, often they can be used for future domains and in the case of affiliate accounts they can be unlinked so you no longer have to see them when you login.

I completely understand what you are saying but unfortunately, for the time being, we are just unable to delete certain things.
