If you are interested in a traffic trade?

been trying to hustle some new large trades and been emailing if they dont have a sign up script

So far they have replied back, just hate to piss someone off!

It depends on how it is asked, and if it looks like a form letter that they have sent in the thousands.

Also I expect them to have looked at my site and be asking like-for-like. For example, if someone with a new PR-0 site emails me asking for an exchange with my long established PR-6 site, then I get pissed off. Although I don't mind if they have a PR-6 site and want to exchange traffic with one of my (many) PR-0. sites.

Also I get a bit annoyed when I get a request specifying a certain trade minimum (100+, 1000+ etc). If you are asking for a trade, then you are asking for what I am prepared to give you, and saying you want AT LEAST (X) TRADES a day is just being an asshole.

And I do mostly tend to be niche specific. EG., if you want to trade with one of my lesbian sites, I expect lesbian traffic in exchange, so will be pissed off if I got an unsolicited email asking for trade with a BBW site. Even if you trade with my multi-niche sites, I now tend to have a different page for each niche, and would expect the trades to either be from a site that specialised in that niche, or from a page that specialised in that niche.

Just my opinion, I doubt if I am on your list of people to ask for trades, since I don't actually do single page multi-niche TGPs like yours anymore because although they are easy to get traffic for, they are difficult to make sales from (my last one closed when a dishonest domain register took my money but did not renew the domain).

I'm curious, why is it worse if it comes via email than a PM? If you consider it spam if sent via email, why is it not spam if sent via a PM?

Although I treat Spam the same however I get it, if I stopped to think about it, I would consider PM spam worse than email spam, because to PM me spam, someone is abusing a message board as well as spamming me. If they send me an email, they are just spamming me.

As long as it's not a form letter blasted out to a harvested list of email addresses, I don't mind. I really don't understand why people get their panties in a bunch over that kind of stuff. Just delete it if you don't want to respond.

I PM webmasters here all the time asking for a linktrade. I don't just do everyone and anyone, but when I see someone's site I want to link with, I just PM and ask.

yeah I dont do the copy n paste boring crap when contacting people. I contact them how I would like to be contacted basically..

demanding x amount in return when they hit YOU up is pretty stupid haha and yep, have had a guy do that to me recently

I usually say that i can offer up to xxx amount and go from there..

there are a few good people out there who like to help and met a few today!

my site is hovering around 13k and its hard to get over that hump and get to the next level

"Do you want to trade"

And that's it.... omfg..... could you be anymore vague? Include your site url, how much you're doing with your top trade, and which site of mine you want to trade with. The last thing I want to do with my time is play 20 questions with a potential trade to figure out wtf they want.

I get so much email spam that I rarely even catch trade request emails, never the less respond to them.

Having thumbnail sites the thing that irks me is when someone with a HUGE thumbnail site hits me up to trade with my little 90x120's. While I know you would be more than happy to have my traffic, your traffic is going to suck for me. And you likely know that.

The other thing that irks happens when someone wants to setup a trade between their 1500/day site and my 150k/day site. One thing that noobs don't seem to get is that trade scripts return better to the top 10 trades in a script. So try to keep with sites whose top 10 you can reach or you'll probably never get ahead.

I agree with what you're saying about hitting up with trades way above your means, a 1.5k daily site wont make their top 100 usually

If I talk to someone and they are interested but are worried about the trade, I usually offer them hardlinks on the tgp and one on another of my sites that gets pretty good traffic.

Like if someone was to hardlink me and they sent over 1500 daily and my return was say.. 500, I would hook them up with a hardlink on free-sex.com aswell.
