Much as I love to complain about Government control, I am in the sad position of having to defend them here: The intervention was in changing the clocks in the SPRING. What we do in the fall/autumn is undo the government intervention and go back to mother nature's way. If it were not for the "government intervention", it would have got dark an hour earlier ALL SUMMER LONG.

However, we lucky ones who run our own businesses can ignore this anyway. In most cases we start work at a time of our choosing, and either stop when we have finished the work, or at the time we decide to stop. So if you hate the winter clock, just get up an hour earlier, start work an hour earlier, finish an hour earlier, and go to bed an hour earlier. The government can't stop you doing that!
