iPhones surge to 69% of mobile web use in US

Some caveats are in order. This is just one company’s view of the mobile Web — albeit the view of world’s largest supplier of mobile ads, serving 6.3 billion banner and text ads per month. And it’s only a snapshot of the smartphones on the U.S. portion of the AdMob network — although 47.6% of AdMob’s traffic comes from the U.S. and 37.3% of that comes from smartphones.

I know I hardly ever surf the mobile specific (where those ads are served) websites, but 90% of my browsing is in a regular browser (seeing the same pages as my computers), and I am sure most non iphone web surfers don't use the mobile specific webpages either

So I guess it is true that an advertiser that TARGETS iphone browsing habits would see a huge majority of iphone hits

Hell, iphones are not that huge a majority of web enabled phones that ATT sells....lol

If iphones are 10.8% of all web enabled phones sold in the USA (the third largest share), it is unlikely that the 89% NON iphones sold in the US are being reported by AdMob
