Hosepipe: it is a rubber pipe you use to water the garden. One end attaches to a tap, turn on the tap, the water runs through the pipe and comes out the other end.
Hosepipe usage: The use of the above (when there is a water shortage this is banned).
Husky: A type of dog that looks like a wolf. They are really popular in Alaska and the Northern States so you did not really need a "British to American translator" but a "Rest of America to Floridan translator".
