Lame duck Presidents have little to no power to accomplish anything substantial.
Over the past 4 years the pendulum has swung a bit too far to the right. The next 4 years, if history is a guide, will predictibly swing back towards the center.
GWB is returning with the lowest public support of any 2nd term.
The first President since Hoover to lose more jobs than gain.
Yeah, he has his "Moral Mandate Capital" that he intends to spend. I'm guessing that will amount to about 3 bucks.
Patience is a virtue - though not easily obtained.

I wish I shared your optimism. The way I see it, Bush has always been a puppet. Now he's a puppet who doesn't have to worry about being elected for another term. He's unleashed.

He may have decreased public support, but the wheels of the machine are turning in his favor.

Excuse me, I have to go polish my tinfoil hat...
