All the Powells are leaving public service. It's not a bad thing.
The FCC has taken huge steps backwards in the last 4 years, trying to allow high concentration of ownership in media, attempting to regular public morals, and generally doing a poor job of actually fulfilling it's mandate. Digital TV still isn't a full out reality because the FCC keeps letting special interest groups play with the regs, the timetable, and such. That is how we have ended up with 4 different standards of broadcasts instead of one unified system. Good riddence to bad rubbish. Alex |

Good news today!
Powell announcing that he is leaving the FCC and the Extreme Associates obscenity trial getting dismissed. Now maybe my boy "Bubba the Love Sponge" can get back on the air! He got a $750,000 fine from the current FCC administration. I can neither confirm nor deny that my radio appearances contributed to the FCC fine... |
