My registrar wrote me an email informing me of the ICAAN rule change. Also let me know that they will NOT permit any transfer requests unless the request is from a person logged into their system via my name and password. ie: It has to be "me" in every respect.
Dotster.. very good registrar, never a single problem with any domain, ever.

![]() Time for some HATE...
I had some major problems with a registrar named Joker.com They killed 140+ domains of mine due to a claim that my whois information was incorrect. (An anti-spam loophole with Icann) These domains alone generate five figures a week. Luckily I had more domains registered elsewhere so I wasn't completely dead in the water. Of course my whois information is 100% correct. They however killed all my domains that were registered with them. Took over a week and $200 worth of calls and faxes to get them restored. Needless to say, I don't have any domains registered there now. The fucking joke is on me for using them! RUN don't walk if you have domains registered with Joker.com Dirty D PS: I wasn't the only one... ![]() They killed ogrish.com They also killed Spamcop.org - Great Irony... huh? |

You tried your best and you failed miserably. The lesson is 'never try'

I dont think you'll run into any problems because of the registrar you use... no one has any right to tell you which registrars you can and can't use. It doesnt affect the site speed or anything in any way.
