Took the hint.

I have thought about it (and published the same numbers in another discussion elsewhere), and I have come to the following conclusion:
(I'll use Tom's numbers' they are handy): 1024x768 29983749 (54%) 800x600 15480923 (28%) If 54% fo the people have 1024, and 28% have 800... well, 82% can handle both! If you add in the other pieces: 1280x1024 5775711 (10%) 1152x864 1788147 (3%) Unknown 1278074 (2%) You can see that 97% of the people can see a site in 800 X 600. Only 3% can't. Move to 1024 X 768, and suddenly 31% of the surfers can't see the site correctly. Move to 1280 X 1024, and 80% of the world can't see your site correctly. At the end of the day, until the 800 X 600 drops down to maybe 20%, I don't think it will be time YET. Christmas 2005, probably. Maybe as soon as September. Alex |
