another 2257 question

I know there is another topic about this but i didnt want to screw up another one so i thought i'll create my own one.

The problem is this:

If the sponsor is not located in the usa. (this one is dutch) Do i need to add the 2257 stuff then too?

i've asked my contact person overthere but they dont even have a 2257 rule. So i could copy paste my own but i still don't have the adress info from where the content came from.

So the main question is.
When the sponsor is not located in the usa. Is it nessacry (or however you spell that) to add the 2257 info then?

I don't think it's so much a question of where the sponsor is located as where you intend to promote them. If you promote in the US 2257 is relevant.

One of the rules of thumb has always been that if your sites are hosted on American servers, then you must keep 2257 records. If you know our government well, the rule to follow would be 'if your porn is going to be viewed by innocent and fragile American eyes, you must be 2257 compliant'.

Keep in mind, there isn't currently a law that says that all of us underlings that merely use content have to include or link to 2257 docs on all of your sites. It's just something we have begun to do as self regulation after the last shake up. It's just a step in the evolution of the industry.

Howdy,

I was just looking over some info on the "new" 2257 compliance regulations and it's kinda scary. I'm not at all sure how it would be possible to comply.

Here's a link to a PDF file, located at the Free Speech Coalition's web site, which breaks it down...

YIKES!
