Link farms are only malicious if it involves a large-scale practice of intentionally increasing pagerank by link exchanges. There are many other factors that go into what defines a link farm as a bad neighborhood and so on.

Was'nt really talking if it would hurt your site, guess was talking if they are of little value, not worth messing with. Course I dont know that much about them. Just look so much like FFA is all..

Ah, gotcha. I would stay away from link dumps, as they are essentially a waste of time. I did an experimental test, and it resulted in 0 sales, and wasted bandwidth.

Not only that, but most fusker bots scour link dumps, so I had to block a couple fusker bots as well.

Is it ok to submit freesites, galleries, doorways for SE ranking?

I think this is what you meant by if submitting your sites to a linkdump would increase your SE ranking. It will not increase your SE ranking, because most linkdumps I've seen do not archive, and even if they do, the backlink quality would be horrible.
