Perl vs PHP

If you have focused on web designing then you shloud start with PHP since it can be easier embedded. You can easily change few HTML pages to achieve dynamic behavor.

Learning PHP or Perl is equivalent in your time/mind consuming IMHO.

P.S. see how many current sites use PHP. GG&J forum based on PHP also.

http://www.php.net/docs.php is a good place to start with.
