And Lord, we are especially thankful for nuclear power, the cleanest, safest
energy source there is. Except for solar, which is just a pipe dream |
Time to fucking bash those fucking scabby fucks.
I can't even think how greedy these fucks are. And the diehards need to shake there head. I really think it is outrageous that a bunch of fucking grade 10 education babies feel they are worth more money than they are being paid. What else are they good for? Go find a job in the real world. A quote stated earlier was that the NHLPA is starting to come down with the salary cap, well they had a chance to sign when the owners came down to a few mere miliions of dollars of what they wanted when the year was called. Why didn't they sign then? What was really funny is that the offer of the mid 40 million cap is way above what most of the teams in the NHL actuall payroll is. What a fucking joke. And now come World Cup time, when all the stars are supposed to show up, a bunch have declined because they are sitting on there ass watching soaps. They know right now that these, so called replacements that have played all year in the minors, would make them look like shit cause they have been...well sitiing on there ass. Not the same sport but, when did Jerry Rice ever take any time off ever, no offseason for this guy. But then comparing real men like professional football players to pro hockey players is like, well there is no comparison. Fucking scabby fucks, taking jobs away from guys that need that cheque for there mortgage, it just makes me sick. And do the players actually think that they have done the right thing? Look at any poll and you will see that 95% of the population thinks the players are at fault. I don't know...maybe they are not intelligent enough to actually realize this...it really wouldn't surprise me. I guess in grade 10 they don't teach polls yet. And oh yeah...and really...the canadian teams can't afford the guys in the first place so I don't think it would be much of a league. Having my home team make the Stanley cup last year and partying on the red mile about this time last year, to this...fuck em all! |

I've got no problem with replacement players as long as the ticket prices are substantially lower. I'm not gonna go see replacements and still pay the high ticket prices - that's ludicrous.
As a matter of fact, its time to bring in replacements. Fresh meat as they say would make for a very exciting league where just about everyone would be making roughly the same salary, give or take. It would take a few years to get the level of play to somewhere where it was, but really, who wants to watch traps, clutching and grabbing, diving and all that other bullshit that game has become today? I for one won't. Take the egos out of the game, call a penalty a penalty, no more trap, touch up icing (it prevents injury) no more clutch and grab (scrap hockey) keep the fucking goalie in his crease, no player in the goal crease and suddenly, you'll have a SPORT worth watching again.

Trying is the first step towards failure

I'm with Rex - replacement players and cheaper tickets works for me. I just want to see hockey again! I didn't realize how much I really missed it until the calendar said it should be playoff time... now I've got a serious puck jones goin' on |shocking|
That having been said, I was just another disgruntled hockey fan who *thought* I was going to have to settle for watching college games... little did I know what a great season it was going to be! DU won the title again and that suits me just fine. It's nice to watch those kids play with enthusiasm and simply for love of the game (as opposed to playing for a paycheck)... brings a nice element to the game and makes for decent entertainment. Baseball is a great sport in and of itself, but it's never going to be a substitute for hockey |cool|

Rock stars ... is there anything they don't know?
|
Quote:
I'm going to game 7 between the Brandon Wheat Kings and Calgary Hitmen tonight and I'm sure I'll be MORE than entertained. It took me 7 years of living here before I went to a WHL game, because I was spoiled by the NHL. These kids are decent players, the ticket prices are cheap as hell ($60 for a family of four, 8 rows up on the blue line), and the games are fun to watch. I'd have a hard time paying to watch the NHL the way it currently is. |

I admit, I've watched a few OHL & WHL games myself this year and I for one can't WAIT for the Memorial Cup...you know, a real SPORTS Trophy given to the TEAM that rises to the top.
What a concept.
