How do PPS sponsors make money these days

Okay I get it

. I know there's good programs where members rebill "forever". I got good experience with karups (which I have not been selling for around 2½ years but still receive checks), naughtyamerica and ACMP which I stopped selling when AdultCheck closed many webmasters out. But I have also seen some shitty membersareas where I thought - who the hell will pay for this.
Maybe necrom is right - that all the other stuff they do can make it up for the lower retention.
What's Jim got to say about it.
