DD: The problem with google at this point is that they are continuing to look at more revenue generating streams, so as to be able to bring the company public with the highest valuation.

As a result, you see them spending them building non-search features, and starting to get away from the "best results". Adding these features is adding page views and advertising space / revenue, but does nothing to add to the search results.

Their sticking to a 100% algo based process for eliminating spam isn't working, and unless they make major changes every couple of months, the spammers get the best of them and many of the best terms are crowded up with useless, spammy entries. Google has, to my understanding, nobody reviewing popular search terms and taking action against spam entires. Rather, they wait for complaints and try to adjust their filters to get rid of it. Sadly, by the next update, new techniques have been used and the spam continues.

Their entire link populatiry thing is being abused to hell by everyone and their dog, and more and more often I am NOT finding what I am looking for when I use google, which never use to happen.

At the point that Yahoo drops Google, then I think we might be seeing the start of the end of Google as the top dog, to be replaced by, well, I don't really know. It's a cycle, and the trick is spotting the next one in line. |juggle|
