We've had the same UPS man for 10 years or more. He'll leave stuff with the elderly lady next door, but not any of her sons, grandsons, and nephews, etc... that all seem to be living there at one time or another.

I am sorry to hear about your ring. I hope it gets to you soon.

I have a recent UPS story that you might enjoy:
I ordered a windshield wiper motor and transaxle unit from a place in Omaha. Got a very good price on it, and it was hard to find. They shipped it out and it got here in a few days. When the garage started to work on it, they discovered the motor was bad, so I had the guys in Omaha send me a good motor. That arrived in about a week. The garage then disassembled my dashboard to install the transaxle, only then to discover a broken part which prevents one of the wiper arms from attaching. So, I call the guys in Omaha for a good part. I figured it would only take a few days for the part to arrive, so I left my car at the garage bc the dash was taken apart. To make a long story short, a few days turned into 3 weeks and after 10 phone calls, I finally was able get the part sent to me. Keep in mind, my car has now been in the garage for almost a month. This is where UPS comes in.
I was tracking the package online and on the day it was to arrive, the garage calls me and tells me that they fixed my car. I was puzzled bc I was still waiting for the part. They told me that one of the mechanics figured out a way to fix it without the part. So when I got home, I went to the garage and checked it out. Very clever, the mechanic! So, I paid and drove the car home. Meanwhile, I am still waiting for the package. The next day, my neighbor comes over with a large box and tells me that it was delivered to her house this morning. Sure, enough, it was the good part : just in time to be of no use! I thought it was a fitting end to whole saga!
