Speaking of annoying animals. Where I live everyone has at least 2 dogs, plus there's a guy down the street that raises donkeys (loud fuckers!), and there's another guy that has about 20 or 30 chickens, 3 or 4 of them are roosters. And that's besides all the woodpeckers, wild turkeys, bugs and tree frogs that I hear all the time. No matter what time of day or night it is, there's something making noise somewhere - lol! Fortunately the woods that surrounds everything really absorbs most of the noise.

Damn, I do feel for you. We moved a little ways out of Key West to get away from those pseudo-birds. (Okay, and the tourists -- don't get me started on the tourists). They're 'protected' in KW and I think they know it, since they absolutely run wild all over town. Even the large feral cat population there leaves them alone.

On the way back from doing my Fruit duties I stopped at BrandsMart and bought the GE 10,000 BTU portable A/C. This is one of the ones on wheels with a big hose that you stick out the window to exhaust the heat.

I'm looking for one of those this year too. With that and a good generator we should be able to live and work after the storm(s).
