How to use other peoples' RSS feeds as content
I have my own feed but someone is telling me that I can use other peoples' RSS feeds as content. How do I do this?

Well you know boys, a nuclear reactor is a lot like women. You just have to read the manual and press the right button
|
It will depend on your blogging software on how you do this.
For some it's as easy as inserting a Tag with the URL for the RSS Feed you want to use. For others you need a plugin And for others you need some 3rd party software... So... What software are you using? |

I'm also intrested in figuring out how to use RSS feeds in my sites. I have one feed myself; however, I will be adding new feeds shortly. (I use word press)
Basically I would like to store the text in an XML file and use a JavaScript (php if I must) to call the text, images, etc, into html files. Some on my server and some on other servers. If anyone has any ideas about doing it I’m all ears! |

I'm using Word Press.....I figured out it's as simple as inserting their XML into my "post" field.

Hi Jen
This is one solution http://rssfeedreader.com/ I've been playing with a combination of RSS Feeds, E-mail, MyYahoo and MSN for automaticly adding content, I still don't have all the bugs worked out but I'm getting there

For all the Wordpress users here's a link to a plugin that works pretty well...
http://rawlinson.us/blog/index.php?p=212 For Pivot users go to the Pivot Help files and look at the Tags section, http://www.pivotlog.net/help/help_template_tags.php Then look for this tag: [[rss]] and you'll have what you need. |

hey bloggers, im intereted in getting rss feeds as content that gets placed on my pages as html so the se spiders read it too. What's a good php based script that would do this. Or is there easier ways? Its not for a blog site.
how does the html on the page get written and rewritten? do i need to use cron jobs or is it automatic every time the rss content changes? been searching google for the past few hours and even tried to install a script (carp) but i kept getting errors on install.

I've actually been learning what you can do with XML/RSS feeds, and different ways to use them in sites. If anyone is intrested, I wrote an article about XML/RSS for Kblogger called XML, it’s not just for blogs anymore.
Hope it helps you guys and it's ok to post it here. |
