New Hosted Free Sites

Yesterday we added seven more free sites to the database, so you now have a tolal of 58 hosted sites you can use to promote signups to the Fetish Club site. The new sites target the ageplay, asian submission, bdsm, bondage, fendom/malesub, femdom/femsub, and foot fetish niches. For a list of the sites (with titles, descriptions, and pre-coded urls), just go to the "My Account" section at Cash Fetish and click one of the "Get List" links. Then enter your CCBill ID# and choose how you want the list formatted. (direct link to enter ID page)

More about 2257, promotional materials, and non-USA affiliates

Last month we talked about how the new 2257 regulations attempt to put us in the position where we'd have to disclose very private and personal information about people who'd really rather not have their information disclosed in this way. As we said, we believe in the personal privacy rights of people and we're concerned about the obvious safety issues. Because of this we're not releasing any information regarding the real names and addresses of the models/performers featured on our site or used in our marketing materials. We do have all required 2257 information on file, of course, but that information will only be provided if requested during an official investigation.

We haven't supplied any content to our webmasters yet, so no one has had to take any free sites, galleries, FPAs, tour pages, or other marketing tools offline due to our decision. We have both explicit and non-explicit banners and graphics now, and we'll have more banners, buttons and other graphics available soon. Some will include explicit images and others will not. We know some webmasters may choose not to use our more explicit banners, since we're not releasing any information on the people shown in those either, but we hope our less explicit or text-only banners will be able to take their place.

One reason we're talking about this again this week (besides the fact that everyone else seems to be), is because we've had many requests recently from webmasters outside the USA for content to use in building free sites, galleries, and other promotional tools. We have good realtionships with several webmasters outside the USA, and since 2257 does not apply to them, we could certainly provide them with all the content we wanted to, without concern for the new regulations.

But we wanted to tell you that we've decided not to do this.

We don't think it would be right if we allowed webmasters outside the USA to use content that we're not supplying to webmasters here. Giving content to webmasters outside the USA, while webmasters here are having to purchase their own content to promote our site, just strikes us as somehow wrong.

We hope that at least the most ridiculous provisions of the 2257 regulations are struck down by the courts, but in the meantime the only way we can keep things what we think of as "fair" is to apply the same internal rules to all of our affiliates. We know this will impact our revenue a bit, but we hope that our affiliates outside the USA will understand that we're not trying to limit anyone's ability to promote our site, we're just trying to ensure that all our affiliates are on the same level playing field.

We're continuing to focus on 'hosted' marketing, like the new hosted free sites we began offering in late May. This month (probably next week) we'll begin offering hosted galleries too. And we're looking into other ways to help webmasters promote our site that will not require you to maintain detailed 2257 records. If you have any ideas you'd like to see us implement you're welcome to contact us about them anytime.

Marketing Ideas Corner

This week's idea is a follow up on last issue's suggestion that you set up your own simple link list page if you don't have one already. If you did that, and added our hosted free sites to the page as we talked about, and linked it to your other pages/sites, and submitted it to search engines, then maybe you'd like to fill out that page with a lot more entries to make it even tastier for the search engine spiders. So this issue we suggest you visit the "HFS Links" site where you can learn more about hosted free sites and get lists of sites provided by other programs too. We know it takes more than one sponsor for a webmaster to be successful, so we don't mind pointing you to places where you may find some other sponsors you want to promote too.
