In a few words, BaDoink is just like the other p2p apps that allow downloads etc, but with BaDoink its all porn. The surfer pays a small fee and you get 50%. So if the surfer spends $1.00 .. thats an easy 50 cents in your pocket. Its not really free .. its get in for a small fee and download all that you can... like a buffet. What I think they mean by free is "No per download fees"

You explained it fairly well, terry... especially in that it's not completely 'free'. There are no download, rental, or late fees on any of the movies in the network and the members can download and keep as many as they wish.

However, if they choose to remain a member after their initial trial time, then they start paying a monthly fee ($29.95/mo) just like any other paysite.... which is where the 50% recurring to the webmaster builds up.

So, in the end, the movies might be free... but the access to them is not.

And, Lemmy, you are also correct that the 'other users' are participating providers... so there is no anonymous trading of un-licensed content between the members and the movies are coming directly from the consenting providers who choose to join the network.

I guess when you look at it, the marketing of it is similar to megapass sites where the surfer is told that when they pay to join one site, they're also getting access to 12 others and all of their content for free. In actuality,it's not totally free and the members areas are usually all feeding off the same content anyhow... but it works to get the surfer to join and feel like they got a good deal. And, like a good paysite, some of the best retentions come from constantly making fresh legal/licensed content available to your members.

Hope this helps explain it a bit better and to point out that the membership costs are the same as those of paysites and that this network doesn't extinguish the need for paysites (especially when people want interactivity, photos, and to be surrounded by content pertaining mainly to their fetish)... it's pretty much just like a large mega-pass site.
