C'mon, Linkster, aren't you splitting hairs here? Even you acknowledge that it would probably take google a month to respond to a DMCA complaint.

I didn't mention that caveat that some hosting is "bullet proof" - perhaps I should have, but I pretty much take it as a given that everyone knows some hosts outside the US, that welcome bulkers and spammers, laugh at the DMCA.

I've not heard of a case where the registrar actually killed a domain based on a single DMCA complaint from an ordinary webmaster. Have you?

As far as the spamreport getting google to quickly act to remove the pages from the database - maybe so - but I haven't seen it, and I have no basis to believe that it would happen quickly. I would expect it to take weeks if it did work.

UW, when did you first report these asswipes? We can start the clock and see how long it takes for google to remove the pages.

BTW, UW, can you tell us where these pages are, so we can watch them?

I still think a DMCA against the host is the fastest way to take pages like these down. (It won't remove them from google, but at least the shitstains don't get to profit from the stolen copy.)

I dont agree in this case - I think a spamreport with lots of info would be the best

I believe they would if you show Google the number of doorway pages they have genereated, the use of the cloaked pages for Googles bot, and the misdirection of the surfers to a different page based on the keywords

Linkster, would you use this as a sample case to explain how a good, effective spamreport should be filed?

Exactly what should be entered, in which parts of the spamreport form?

Bill I guess what I was trying to convey is that it is doubtful that Google (of any of the other people) would act on a DMCA complaint as he wasnt copying anything - so no real copyright issue which is all the DMCA covers - and Google has gotten very picky about what they will remove with DMCA lately.
It is a trademark issue but in that case only the mark holder can file the complaints
Now to the real issue - yeah its spam - and unless you learn how to use that doorway software it puts in all kinds of results that you really dont want in there - its the same thing that got Robert in a little bit of trouble a while back.
If the pages are down Google wont really take any action on a spam report - they will allow the pages to fall out naturally - however - I would just show where his pages show up in the SERPS in a spam report and then put in the site: command search that shows all of the doorway pages - they may go ahead and nuke them but like I said - they may not

FYI: pages were deleted

I know they were deleted Cibi. I'm actually more interested in this as a test case, a classic example, than as your specific copy theft.

Altho I'd like to hear about your reasoning on this whole thing? Why did you take the pages down, for instance?

Why did you put the pages up? And how did you do it? Who showed you how to do it?
