I typically ban submits ending in a series of numbers which have no sponsor link. Or have sponsor link and you click it and returns you to the gallery...call me foolish

Very good idea, search engine spiders avoid sites like that. I can't find the article to quote exactly why but it had something to do with the spiders going into generated pages and getting caught in an endless loop. There fore when they see something like that, there is a very good chance the spider will move on and ignore the page.
