Host folders?
Ok Just went to a new host and noticed once I logged on by ftp that I saw these folders.
_Private _vti_bin _vti_cnf _vti_log _vti_pvt _vti_txt The only time I ever saw these created was when I was starting out with frontpage. The site is hosted on a linux box. Does these mean they have FP Extenions installed? Makes me very concerned for security reasons? |

Dam!. CD34 I dont build my stuff with FP anymore, have not for sometime. Tell me can they (the hosting company) remove the extensions on a vert host or is that something that goes across the board for everyone sharring that box?

Aw, Dad, you've done a lot of great things, but you're a very old man, and old people are useless

Hello Jugernaut,
These directories are found when there is FP extension installed on the server. You could delete these directories through your file manager if you are not using FP extensions. You will have the option in you Control Panel to uninstall FP extension, or you could even ask them to uninstall it for you if you don't want it. |

Thanks I deleted them. The host said no issues. I dont work with FP or the extentions much and did not know if me removing the folders would break the extensions to the point were it affected other sites on the box. But host said go ahead and I just finished it about 5 mintues ago. Thanks everyone for the replies.
