VideoWave 7 - mpeg/wmv files at 15fps
I've read in a couple of articles lately that video for the web needs to be encoded at just 15fps.
But in VideoWave 7 each file type, mpeg-1 or wmv, has only certain fps options that can be selected, all in the range of ~28-30. I would really like to cut the size of my video files for my members down, but I can't seem to find a way, using VideoWave 7, to encode anywhere near 15 fps. Any suggestions anyone? Am I using the wrong video editting/encoding software? Or maybe these articles were washed up, or I misunderstood them? Thanks in advance for any suggestions or information. |

You can now put whatever you want in this space :)

I don't know where you read that, but it sounds like an awful lot of bunk to me. The human eye sees 30fps smoothly, but 15fps would appear to be choppy I would imagine. If you wanted to test it out, I think virtual dub might have some options for selecting your capture frametime.

The second time I saw 15fps mentioned I thought, "hmmm, I should look into this." But maybe I am just on a wild goose chase. Thanks for the url GC, I will check it out. |

Movie film is 20 fps, television is approximately 30 fps, and the human eye has difficulty noticing any differences between animation higher than approximately 60 fps.
Anything under 15 fps will appear choppy. That doesn't mean 17 fps will appear smooth. Unfortunately, video 'quality' doesn't perfectly correlate with fps. You can't just put a single number on it. |

I think most use 25-29.97, 15 seems downright crazy. If you want to cut file size down go with 320x240 and that should help.
Otherwise the I think the quality will be too bad. |
