I agree.
Using P2P networks a branding exercise could be a good idea - to get your name out there, but in my opinion that's about it.

Yes, there is a problem with it too. Anyone who does sign up - you know they use p2p obviously. Now will they share out all the movies in your members area?!!? (lot of good the advertisements there would do after that) You'd almost have to use DRM and many hate that and won't sign up if they know about it.
