Hiding referral codes in the URL?

most do as long as it only shows the destination url. there are a couple of big ones that don't like them, tho, so I stopped using them altogether in my attempt to make better use of my time
I haven't noticed any drop in click thrus yet so I'm not sure if it really makes a big difference.
