And here I always thought it was the Cabbage Patch Kids dolls back in the 1980s that really started this shitstorm - but
It really started back in the 1930s when Macys started their parades to lure people into the store the day after thanksgiving with the floats of all the brand new toys for the current season.

We got quite a bit of snow yesterday as well. I had the snowblower running last night. It's just not as fun anymore without my plow.

What she seems to forget is that she's doing all the cooking...whereas we only had a light dusting and that just needed a quick brush down.
Time for me to sit back and let the day go by... Move it smutty|whip|

Great points being born in '79 myself, while you were all getting domain names for free and making your millions hehe. I guess the point I was making, in relation to your 30's/80's blitz references -- were cabbage patch kids only shipping in quantities of 5-10 per store? Did Macy's only carry 5 Big Bird toys? Sure "The Day After" has been the biggest shopping day for a good long while, but I think they're taking it a bit far these days... or I'm getting to be an old fuddy duddy already (at a mere 26!).

And yeah... I had THREE cabbage patch kids when i was a kid LOL

Well - youre right about the domains names for free - up until 1995 or so they were free - then they had to start charging $100 per name for a 2 year reg. to support ICANN

And yes - they would definitely limit the numbers of certain toys to each store - although back then you also had something called rain-checks that would allow you to fill in a little form and when they got a new shipment you were guaranteed the price for that sale day - none of this new walmart-induced BS of only 5 per store at that price and thats it - of course the other factor is that back then we didnt have walmarts in very many cities - they didnt really expand till the 80s - and very few shopping malls - so everyone went to the department stores like Macys,Hechts or Sears and the crowds were amazing.

Instead of going shopping, wives (and husbands) should all stay home and buy porn from us. This way they save gas and avoid the crowds

And Lord, we are especially thankful for nuclear power, the cleanest, safest
energy source there is. Except for solar, which is just a pipe dream

In the mid and late 80's I had to go through that crap with He-Man (the trick they did there was have billions of everybody else and 5 He-Man figures) and then those damn Teenage Ninja Turtles (they always want a paticular one and no other TMNT would do). I remember one time a crowd of people just waiting in the asile and the guy just bringing out the open boxes and getting the hell out of the way.
