Correction it was only around 150k in attendance last year for CES

So now an example of why the prices are higher - I go to the mailbox yesterday and there is a shiny black envelope - legal sized - with a poster from Internext in it - with a caption at the bottom - make sure to register early by Dec 2
Why waste the money we are giving for the passes to send out advertisements to drum up business - to people that have already registered???? And send it so that it arrives after the registration cutoff??? What a waste and just another example of the mis-management of the whole show

I got mine yesterday too. The first thing I thought was "Is this a portent of things to come?". Meaning the demise of Internext in relation to our industry.

I think so.

Linkster: Tell us what date it was mailed on... If the mail was slow - is that also AVN's fault?

Also, why shouldn't they continue to market the show to people that are most likely to refer more business? I think you could likely put anything they do into a negative light but there are definitely two ways to look at the situation in your example.

Do you work for AVN? If you do then why don't you or someone at AVN know exactly when the mailer went out? To answer your question, yes, if AVN sent out the mailers they should accept responsibility for the mail being slow. That's part of being a professional organization that provides a service to its customers. Either the mailers took 6 weeks to be delivered or it was poor planning and since it seems that AVN doesn’t know the date then the evidence points to poor planning.

Of course poor planning isn’t a big deal if you accept that it was poor planning and focus on fixing the issues.
