what is the domain worth?
I just grabbed another domain.
I was wondering if its worth something without traffic - beside the registration fee.. 69porn.eu I figure EU-domains dont sell that well also what would be the criterias for adult-domains to be worth something? since I already started the thread perhaps tell me your thought of the value of free-anal-porn.eu free-asian-porn.eu free-lesbian-porn.eu free-teen-porn.eu I have been told that the hyphens make have less value thanks for any feedback

Remember to rebel against the authorities, kids!
|
With no traffic, and no sites, they are basically worth the amt to register them imho.

.eu is worth a lot less than .com and .com's are cheap.

thats true..
the only positive thing about the eu-domains is that there still lots of them availible --> some might be usefull for SEO

Took the hint.

.eu domains will in the end probably be worth about what the .info or the .whatever-it-is-this-week is worth - there will always be a new extension to make the old extension look useless.
$10 or whatever you paid for it is what it is worth because it was worth that to you. IMHO, there is only one .com - everything else is "those other things". Alex |

Are you sure you're an accredited and honored pornographer?

The best thing to do is to park them and see if there is any type-in/unique traffic- that way you can determine if its worth the reg fee or not.
Undeveloped CC domains arent worth much unless they have turned "mainstream", there are very few extentions that fall into this category. .EU recently came out of "sunrise" so the reg fee is still high- The domains with hypens are normally worth less than no hyphenated domains- only becasue they are less likely to have high type-in traffic. There are a few instances where hyphenated domains are worth more than there non-hyphenated counterparts. And that is when the domain has high backlinks; overture and pagerank. Which basically means someone spent quite sometime developing it. The criteria that determines an adult domains value differs, but most importantly is the domains abilty to be remembered and what i like to call "spark interest". If you are looking to reg domains with resale value here are a few tips that have worked for me- keep the domains under 11 characters, no hypens and niche specific. PM me if you would like some help.

With $10,000, we'd be millionaires! We could buy all kinds of useful things like ... love!

Hi pornoTGB
To confirm what the others have already said, I had some moderate profits with a few .coms but nothing with anything else. I gave up trying to buy and sell domains a few years ago. It was a fad that got old when ridiculous prices were being paid. Yes, a few still get the big bucks, but not for the name alone... it is for the content and traffic. I have a few names I have hung on to... just in case... but I'm not banking on them. Quote:
BuyEuroPorn - Caters to the European DVD market. Their content is in English, German and Czech. EuroRevenue - Has European orientated porn sites. Then there is EuroBabesCash - Not specifically aimed at the Euro market, but their content is European Amateurs. That should get you started with the 69Porn.eu as well as a good grounding for the free-*-porn.eu sites HTH Steve

If it's not a .com or a .net I don't even bother going to the domain on a search result. The only other thing I will go to is a .edu for education material. .org is just a waste and .gov if you want to read stuff about the government. .mil for military things etc. but anything that has a country extension I don't even bother and I'm willing to bet the average surfer won't either. So in my opinon a domain with a .anything other then the standard ones everyone knows is worhtless. Just like .TV.

AdultInternet.TV So for future references. I would truley screen a .TV in future submissions. There are some other sites that are worthy as well. Especially as technology is advancing and bandwidth is getting cheaper there will be more and more people trying to copy us as paysites in the future will be in less demand. They will always be around and Yes will always make money, Don't take me wrong. |

Although I feel the same as the other posters in this thread, you have to take the worth of a domain with a grain of salt. I learned this a long time ago when there was only one registrar and even though you had to pay $100/domain, you were able to try before you buy. You would order your domain and they would bill you. I grabbed some good domains back then and asked the prominent domain buyer at the time what they were worth. He told me they were worth the cost of the reg fee. So, I just let them go back without payment and the day they were offered again, he grabbed them. I can't remember most of them but back then, only a few people ever thought domains were going to be worth anything. Most of us laughed at the guy that bought every country name .com I can only imagine what domains like japan.com, italy.com, china.com and all the others sold for.
We weren't alone in our short sided thinking. Even altavista had to buy their domain from someone. That went cheap...I think it was only $3million. Thinking back...a very good friend used to own helpdesk.com. He sold it for what I believe was a good price at the time. But, I can't help wondering how much IBM would be willing to pay for that today with all their commericals showing a helpdesk. |
