Our hippy friend is on to something here. Simply selling a link with no guaranteed traffic delivery or exposure is nonsense. But setting up a simple system as Virgohippy just described would be best for you, as a submitter, and for the person purchasing traffic. I personally wouldn't ever purchase a link. Fuck links - people want traffic. Build a simple page, start adding a permanent link to that page from every free site you build and sell actual clicks. Use phpadsnew or some other banner delivery/control system. You'd never have to worry about getting your sites deleted for making changes after listing.

That's a tough call. On one hand, it's just another link...whatever it goes to isn't actually on your site. It very much does become another sponsor link.

On the other hand, at least when that link goes to a sponsor site...there is at least some modicum of control. Sponsors get called out and blasted when they do something incredibly stupid. Having that link go to Joe Schmoes page...that Joe can do whatever his lilttle mind dreams up...that could get ugly.

Then again, I've seen link sites closed down and replaced with some pretty nasty things...I'm sure there are recips out there to some of those.

See, told ya it's a tough call

Frankly, when you get to the short strokes...I don't think the management and hassle would be worth it. To keep your own butt protected, you'd almost have to monitor those links yourself.

To answer your question...yea, I'd probably accept the sites for a regular submitter and I'd test those links just like I do any others. That's where the rub comes in...if the person you sold that link to has something nasty on there...it's your butt on the line

Joy! UW called me friend! Does this mean I can look forward to an undending supply of abusive foreplay?

I've yet to see a pr4 freesite... pr3's are common enough though. But, I think the point is that a whole bunch of freesite backlinks, for seo purposes, could be considered valuable. Although, I have a suspicion you might be better off just using all those links/traffic on your own sites to build up something with a bit more permanence.

But I'm just another inexperienced newbie.

If you do this, how much would you charge for this service? How much could you net if you used that traffic to push one of your own programs?
