rules on using a P.O. Box in my whois?

Use her mother's address.

While I am one of those pricks who demands an exposed and honest whois, I don't foresee a listing issue due to the use of P.O. box. The Yumster mentioned the 2257 issue which, for most people, will create the greatest burden when it comes which address to use. Otherwise, just make sure you use a real address where you can receive important mailings in case the shit hits the fan some day.

As far as security concerns due to using one's home address, I typically find most people's worries a tad laughable. I've been at this since late '01 (still haven't made a single sale) and the only industry-related concern I've had in my offline life was a bi-polar neighbor going nuts on me and threatening to force me out the community (I wish!) because I was wearing a "porn shirt". Of course, that guy gets taken to the mental health unit by the cops every couple of weeks because he refuses to take his medication. I very kindly informed him that if he ever raised his voice again in such a tone, his body would be found floating down the mighty Hudson. I also carry a knife and have two rather anti-social dogs, but that's because I fear my fellow webmasters, not porn surfers.

I gotta post my personal info so why shouldnt you, and its a must if your gonna have any chance at making more than a 100 bucks a month doing porn, a lot of LL and tgps wont list you otherwise....

those amateur singles sites I could see having a PO BOX but a average web porn slinger is a no go...

But why? A great many people have a P.O. box for their normal mailing address. They aren't attempting to hide where they live, they just don't get mail directly to their home.

Is this a common policy amongst other lists? I'd never adopt it, but curiosity is peaked, sort of.

Who says? I use a PO Box and I have never had a problem with it, infact you listed one of my sites on your own link list pornoplentyxxxlinks.com just a couple of months ago.
For me a PO Box just helps to seperate business from personal matters much like seperate bank accounts etc.
I think the idea of punishing a BUSINESS for using a PO Box is nothing short of ridiculous.

The reason why I shouldn't is because those naked pictures I am submitting to your site and a bajillion other are actual naked pictures of ME. I am making a living by inviting strange men to fantasize about having sex with me. Surfers are, therefore, a whole fucking hell of a lot more likely to want to camp out on my lawn than yours. And I don't want to give them any more information than I absolutely have too.

Even if I weren't worried on my own behalf, I would be worried about it for the sake of my 2 kids, who could also be endangered if one of these guys should decide to track me down and camp out on my lawn.

Plateman, would you consider accepting sites from a submitter with a private whois if they could provide alternate verification such as perhaps a doing business as registration?

I also wonder how the LL owners who ban private whois's would like the godaddy business registration, which is (I gather) a private registration with a linked business directory. Any opinions?

I would have written to you to make sure before I submitted to Porn O Plenty, but it is very nice to have "preapproval" (so to speak).

Just out of curiosity I spent half an hour looking up various domains' whois last night...about 80% of the independent paysites I checked had either a private whois or a PO box, and better than half of the LL's I checked also had a PO box. And at least one LL I looked at had a fake address! (It was something like "the pit, Hell TX.") So I guess there's not really a consensus on this.

who says you gotta post your info..a box is only 37 every 6 months...why would you put your personal addy for all can see..to each it's own...i guesss i won't get listed at your LL
