I thought Ghana played but I only about 40 minutes of the first half. The scores makes it look like a blow out but it really didn't seem that way. The tiny nation of Ghana has every right to be proud.

ghana did a good job, the yellow cards they got and the red one, not all where deserved, just like the second goal of brazill, the ref should have declined that goal but this WC is already made and the ame shit will be with spain and franche, its ment to be franche will win, well if you are following this game now, you see that franche gets all the chanse for it, bad bad ref again

the only chanse to win for spain will be to get the 1-1 going and let it end on penalties, thats a thing the ref cant controle, but if you are following the game you will see the frenche have the ref at their side.

Ghana got fleeced! The two first goals Brazil scored were both offside, I don't care what anyone says.

pornrex, the second goal was offside but the first goal was a fantastic goal and Ronaldo was one step behind and clearly onside

Sy,
They keep showing the replay and my laser corrected vision disputes your claim, 100%. But who cares really? Its looking alot like FIFA wants Germany and Brazil to square off in the final, if not Germany and Italy.

I just hope that Argentina has something to say about that but honestly, I see the refereeing being TOTALLY one sided come game time in favor of the 'Chermanz.' WC refereeing is quite possibly the worst refereeing in the world of ANY competitive sport team sport, including figure skating pairs!!

What was up with that bogus call in the box on the Australian player? There was NO foul there but because Australia is only a country of 20 million and Italy has 60-70 million people, it would have been a MASSIVE embarassment for Italy to get the 'boot.' And for that matter, why did Materrazzi get Red carded? That Spanish ref sucked midget balls. I hope Italy realizes that they've ran out of lucky calls and they had better bring their A+ game here on in!

My take is that this was ALL planned to take the heat off the bullshit call that HAD to be made to FORCE the Azzurri into the round of eight. Garbage, I tell you. Pure TRASH!! I was expecting MUCH better from FIFA. FIFA should change their name to FOOFOO.

I really would like to see Argentina square off against Brazil or France or whomever. The Argentines were my pick from day 1 and the only real threat they've had was from that excitingly close match from the upstart mexican team. Meanwhile, Germany was VERY lucky to face off against a not-so-confident Sweden team which is really too bad because the Tre Kroner side actually had a chance to win that game, they just mucked up too much to warrant a deserving win.

However it turns out, I will be STILL watching from here on in.

stuveltje ... you're right bad calls but then again ref didn't score the other two goals. Besides, it as obvious Ghana was scared of Brazil ... just when they passed ball to the 16m cap Ghana players didn't know what next to do with it. I guess lack of experience did it so it was a routine win and bad ticket for me :-(

as for French .. don't get me wrong Spaniards but are a local village team with no balls (except Puyol). Every important game they have played so far they screwed. They do have few great players but they are not the team for great deeds!!! On the other side French, although they haven't showed anything on this WC, are a good team but only when Viera and Zidane play well... and they did yesterday (too bad they don't have one more player in the middle like those two what a team that would be!!!)

and as for refs ... the only game so far, mildly destroyed by refs, is Holland-Portugal. Not that Holland would win (sorry stuveltje) but the games was unnecessary sliced and wasn't fluid enough to enjoy it (although I did enjoy the fights)!!! None of the other ref mistakes did too much damage to the game ... now I didn't watch Italy's game so can't comment on that :-) everything else was ... well ok :-)
I think that these teams that have gone through: Ger, Arg, Eng, Por, Braz, France, Ukr, Ita deserve it ... well except Italy but then again I'm saying this every Championship and they always seam to be in the top so I guess they deserve it (in a way)

Argentina is the better team but they had a more difficult time last game so may not be as fit. I also think the home country has a big advantage so I'm thinking Germany.

I will be cheering for Ukraine even though I think Italy will win. It will be interesting to see if Italy can win a match where people aren't talking about the refs.

Germany gets the equalizer with 10 minutes left and then makes all the penalty kicks to move on.

I have never seen any game where the offense pressed the entire game, including the entire 30 mins of overtime and lost.

As as curious soccer fan, I'm not impressed.

Hmm, a final between Germany and Italy is impossible, if Italy wins they will meet Germany in the semi-final

I don't think FIFA had a say in Germany vs. Argentina. Germany did NOT seem to be getting special treatment from the refs. That's been saved for Italy this time around. You know the country league that has players, coaches and refs on trial Monday for game fixing.

I don't think any one can stop Brazil although France and Brazil is a rematch of the 1998 WC when France won. England has not played well and Portugal is all beat up so I think Brazil will go to the finals.

Then we'll have a rematch of last WC but this time with Germany at home.

I cheered for Brazil the last 2 cups and now they're the champs I just feel I'd like someone else to win. No offense to anyone as I love Brazil but I'll be cheering for Germany. Unless it's Italy vs. Brazil and then I'll be cheering for Brazil.
