He stepped into office during a serious economic down turn so he did have to battle that and it's hard to blame him for the first few years of 0 job growth.

His method for handling that was terrible because it's all short term fixes and now America is much weaker because of his tax cutting/spending, China trade agreements and lack of incentives for companies to provide jobs in America.

We can't blame him for the initial down turn, just the way he handled it.

It's debatable if we can blame him for 9/11. We can blame him for future attacks, all the deaths in Iraq and the saber rattling going on now with Iran and NK. The world is a far more dangerous place for Americans based on Dubya's policies.

Katrina. It's not his fault that the hurricane hit. It's his fault that most of Washington left for vacation, his buddy had no influence and he didn't give a fuck about it.

In this thread, we haven't blamed him for anything except the Iraq war, which his regime is most definitely at blame for. That's why I'm wondering what Tommy meant.

Is Bush responsible for soldiers raping Iraqi women? Yes, he put them there.
Is he responsible for the human rights violations at Abu Ghraib? Yes.
Is he responsible for the massacre in Haditha? Yes.
Is he responsible for thousands of soldiers coming home in flag-draped coffins? Yes.
