Good Morning Everyone!
I was product manager for a .com company sitting in my office and a good friend sent me an msn to check out the news. Right away we started registering domain names and 2 days later we had a site up and were collecting money selling shirts that we made. All the funds went to support the Red Cross efforts. Was a very sad time, even though I wasnt directly involved in this terror I think in someway or another we all are. If I still had the board I used back then I would put it back up and continue to let people post and send in stories and artword like I was doing 5 years ago... maybe I start it over?? Have a good day everyone! |

I'm not interested in the facts, I'm interested in my opinion.

At the time I was living in a loft about 2 blocks away from the Sears Tower, in downtown Chicago.
I was updating sites and reviewing galleries when my wife told me to turn on the TV, a plane just crashed. As I was watching the one on fire, the other plane hit. Then the report of the one going down in a field and the one that hit the Pentagon. I thought for sure the Sears tower would get hit as well. The wife and I grabbed the dog and hopped in the car and got out of the city for the day, just in case. We drove to my parents house in the suburbs and stayed until late in the evening. Incidently my cousin who lives in NY was visiting and staying at my parents house. He slept till about 1pm that day. He awoke to find what had happened and that he could not get home. That was a sad and surreal day. |

Indeed.
I woke up and turned on the Today show to see the damage, I believe right before the second plane hit. I went to work and because of our proximity to a nuclear plant and a 'missing' plane in our area, everyone was on edge. We had one employee run out the door in fear for her child's safety. That night I was glued to the coverage trying to make some sense of the whole matter. I was unsuccessful in that venture. |
