I have never been a fan of laptops, I doubt I'll ever buy one again.
All 5 have lasted less than a year and half, but I have a 6+ year old tower being used as the house server. (needed to add a couple more hard drives and a bit more ram) My oldest has had worse luck than me, so now he went back towers also. Now Em's tower - that'd be the one to play games on!!! ![]()

I have had one laptop in my lifetime (Toshiba Satellite) and it was an over priced total peice of shit, I dont think I'll ever get another one again, if I aint home chances are I am on vacation and dont need to work anyways, haha. For me personally I will probably never get anything but an Emachines, my first computer I got was an Emachines and it lasted over 3 years and still runs to this day (got it in 99). Even though it was fine I figured I needed to upgrade in 2003. So I got the best Emachines they made then and that is my machine still to this day. Never have had to replace a single thing on it ever. The only thing I had to replace on my old Emachines was the dial up modem that got knocked out by a storm. I have had tons of family and friends that have had anything from Compaqs, Dells, Gateways you name it and my Emachines always outlasts them even though I use my computer probably 10x more than they do.
