The Oil Factory
Named after some gnomes who cooked up very high quality hash oil there. A great spot, close to the beer store, close to home, but buried in the woods. My stepson and I grabbed a case of beer and headed out there a couple of years ago, much smaller than it used to be, bastards built apartment buildings on most of it. But the cliff I jumped off of to avoid arrest once was still there. When the cops had us all surrounded that was the only exit and I was drunk enough that it didn't hurt until the next day
Got lucky for the first second and third time there. Great memories!

Madness is like gravity. All it takes is a little... push.

Wow TPat... that story almost brought a tear to my eye. I think if I'd heard you say it in person I probably would have let one loose. I love “the endless summer" description. I must be feeling a bit silly right now - probably because I'm remembering all my favorite little hippie hideaways.

I bet your natural music makers were the most soothing ever.

My favorite part about Venice is the weekly drum circle. The combination of dancing goddesses, interesting aromas and hundreds of idividual voices all blending together into one collective haze of sensation just drives me wild. I don't much like being in a crowd except at a Venice beach drum circle.

Did they have 'em back when you were there?
