2006-2007 NFL Playoffs

Who wants to post their predictions?

I really think it is going to be Chargers vs Saints, both are just playing damn good football and both have a very talented roster.

I do think the Colts are going to beat the Chiefs and MAYBE the Ravens, but I think LT will just run them over.

NFC is just a nasty mess, the Bears are no where near the contenders their record says they are, the only actually good team in the NFC is the Saints.

MVP I think should be a tie with LT and Brees. LT kicked ass, but he had such a strong supporting cast, Brees went into a “loser” team and got them the #2 seed.

Mora and Green are gone, Mora should have learned by watching his dad coach on when to keep his mouth shut. Green just wasn’t ready to come back, he had too much talent on that team and could do nothing with it.

I agree, Chargers are the class of the AFC. A nice balance of both offense and defense.

I don't think the Colts gets past the Ravens.

The home game helps the Saints big time, but the one factor that concerns me is that most of the team have not been here before.

If the Bears lose then the Saints will play at home for the NFC title, if not they'll have to beat the Bears in Chicago in January, a tall order for a young team.

I like the Saints D over the Bears Offense, and the Saints Offense can score vs the Bears D, I think it comes down to the special teams, which the Bears have a great one. Pats could be back as well.

Regardless, I expect some kick ass games and I have trouble seeing the AFC not winning it all.

Some good predictions so far.

Teams that MIGHT make a splash? The Eagles lead by Garcia.

Seattle has a chance but they are not as good as last year. Seattle should beat Dallas and after that anything can happen. Chicago is just bad on offense IMO so it's a crap shoot from the final 4 teams. I think it will be a NO and Philly in the conf. finals.

In the East, the Colts D is almost as bad as the Chicago O so I don't see them beating too many teams. If someone can beat San Diego for them they might make it to the Super Bowl. But I see New England as a possible team. Otherwise it will be Baltimore or San Diego in the Super Bowl playing Philly or New Orleans.

After coaching and especially reffing for a few years now, everything seems different. Coming from more of a "what's possible" perspective.

NFC - I'll take the Billls, ok maybe not, but at least they beat the Vikes record

Reality -
NFC - pretty much agree with Torn. Saints over Chicago (sorry Dr.B - ebay still has "fridge" posters), Chi town defense just isn't there.
AFC - SD - if they play together and to their potential, I don't think they can be beaten.

Give the MVP to LT - if so, the bar will be set so high for "rushing TDs" to be out of contract negotiations from now on. (Then Brees would be in contention, albeit TD has some more impressive stats)

Torn - I do believe this is the first time in how many years that we've ever agreed on two teams.
Though concerned about the long layoffs.

My Picks - Wild card
KC at Indy - KC - Indy hasn't had a run defense since Clinton.
Dallas at Seatle - Seatle - Dallas doesn't realize the train heading at them.

Jets at NE - NE - history would suggest this pick
Giants at Philly - Entertaining game to the winner to be the loser.

We'll go from there.
At 3/4 I'd be ahead of most of Doc's teams picks

NFC Week 1
Seattle vs Dallas - Dallas
Philly vs NYG - Philly

Week 2
Chicago vs Dallas - Chicago
NO vs Philly - Philly

Championship
Chicago vs Philly - Philly

Intangibles - Rex Grossman sometimes plays like a real quarterback, if he can put it together for a couple games the Bears are unbeatable.

New Orleans....need I say more

AFC
week 1
New England vs NYJ - New England
Indy vs KC - KC

Week 2
San Diego vs KC - San Diego
Baltimore vs New England - Baltimore

Championship
San Diego vs Baltimore - Baltimore

Marty S. in San Diego makes this an easy choice. He is bound to outcoach himself somewhere along the line...probably in the championship game but San Diego is the most talented.

Intangible - New England is playing great defense and I would normally take Brady over McNair...but I didn't

Superbowl
Baltimore vs Philly - Baltimore

The above are purely my personal opinions

Watch out for the Eagles and Pats both are playing very good right now.

I also think it will be Chargers-Saints super bowl.

But with the way this season has gone who really know? If any team beats the Chargers during the playoffs I'll be very surprised though.

...words to bring tears to my eyes.

As a Saints' season ticket holder, and now playoff ticket holder, my loyalties are obvious. I think, though, that it will be NO and SD in the Superbowl.
I think Chicago will fall and the road will pass through NO and the volume in the Dome will play a huge role in pushing us through to the Superbowl.
The interesting part is the whole story. It couldn't have been scripted better. If , in fact, it turns out that way, I think the MVP will be determined based on the performance by LT and Brees in that game.
Being a lifelong saints fan, I think maybe the voodoo is gone and it's high time that everything they never achieved gets achieved... but who'd have thought it would all come at once?

I forgot to add LT is the MVP. No chance of it being someone else. Breez had a great year but LT had a fantastic one.

Imagine they actually played together last year.

Chargers-Chicago
The Bears just need to get their shit together, especially defensively. Chargers have it all going for them, it's theirs to lose.
But then again I'm still pissed off at the Argos
And the Leafs

Same here A lot of people asked me who I thought would make it to the Super Bowl on New Years Eve (I hate idle chit-chat) and that's what I said every time.

I do really hope that KC doesn't run thru Indy as I think a Colts/Chargers game would be good to watch.

I also hope that Baltimore & Dallas loose their 1st games, as I can't fucking stand either team
