Question for TGP owners

If I was to submit a gallery that followed the rules and had one banner link to a sponsor and another banner link to my linklist (which doesn't accept galleries) would that be a problem? The content would be my own, and not tied to a sponsor.

A banner? No.

A discrete, read small, text link at the bottom of the page? I'd probably let it slide if it were a first rate gallery and still stayed within the limit on external links.

OK,thanks. How about if I didn't have a sponsor link and my only outgoing link was to my LL?

I've never understood why more people don't do this. I would think it'd be especially effective for very targeted sites, such as a smoking directory etc.

Another idea might be a gallery promoting someone like Rabbit's Reviews, where he gives you the sale on 9/10 clicks anyway.

I'm mystified myself.
Used to do it in the good ole days, gave TGP's super clean galleries with only one link out, my own fresh content, everyone was happy.
Haven't tried it in a few years but I used to be a regular on the Hun, Worldsex, Snakesworld, Redway, a lot of the biggies.
Why do you need to advertise one particular sponsor when you burn your own bandwidth and supply your own content on quality galleries? Why not advertise a link list? Or a hub even?

i list tgp galleries so webmasters can get sales...not to build up traffic to their blogs, linklists and tgps....

Just think of the movie gallery GG could put together to advertise LOR :-) It wouldn't even have to be all porn, but more to convey the attitude of the site. A group of guys around the tv cheering, "reviewing" the camping porn girl while drinking beer, a scene at the poker table where they're discussing the logistics of triple penetration, followed by a quick pan on the Bill's cheerleaders to represent his 'daily' section. It'd be like a funny commercial. It would also be a way to 'earn' traffic from a list instead of a generic trade, blind or text link.

I'm with Shemp on that.

A link at the bottom that says brought to you by or something like it I don't mind but most other tgp owners do mind that.

Hey Shemp

I started out doing that
all my free sites and gallery's had banners and text ads for Tommys

I use to submit them to Richards Realm, Pk and Greenies

I remember Richard wrote a review saying: in..some big word advertising
I sat there a little insulted thinking what the fuck does that mean???

when I looked it up it meant useful or something like that
I felt pretty stupid

Most webmasters dont invest anything in their lists and then they wonder why it never grows

Exactly what I was thinking. I have text or banner links to my LL on all of my AVS sites and about 90% of my free sites. I always count them as an exit link.
