Good Friday To Those Of You With Working Power...

...unlike Jim

Morning

Jim's having a small power problem today - seems the transformer across the street blew up last night & fried a lot of his (and his neighbors) electronics |Jim

I have no idea what else is going on so far today, as most of my morning has been spent on the phone with Jim

Nothing special today , well i am a cabdriver all day already for my daughter and her friends oh and i had a haircut, i went from "curly long hair till butt" coup to a "short curly hair just to the shoulders" coup, this wasnt ment to be but i know someone who will be pretty pissed this midday when he comes back from work. Other then that i have nothing ...i think. Have a great day all!

Morning.. Got up at 5am for a 6am conference call.. still waiting..

and I forgot that this weekend is "turn left" here in Vegas.. NASCAR fans have decended. Hopefully some will trickle over to the swapmeet...

Stu.. you have all kinds of ops for content there.. the cutting of the hair.. the ensuing fight afterward..

Ok.. well i'm going for more coffee.. leave it to the Brits to fuck up the time..

For the gift that keeps on giving give a cold.

Still feeling like crap with this cold and I seem to have given it back to my neighbor although I'm not sure he was who I got it from but he was the first sick with it. Now Angel is super sick with it and a few of my other friends too. Oddly my Russian friend Valentina hasn't caught it despite her girlfriend being sick with it for weeks now but she is one of those lucky people that never seems to get sick. She says that it is because if you could survive growing up in Russia, she is actually from the Ukraine, you can survive anything.

Just a day of feeling like crap while working planned.

Yep, Furnace, every surge protector I own, 1 refrigerator, 2 Bose radios, every light bulb in the house and I am still looking. All these things fried because the neutral wire fell off the transformer last night. The power company's guy I talked to last night said, "call your homeowners insurance".

I just spoke to the NY Public Service Commission and they said, don't call our homeowners insurance company. They said send the Power Company a list of costs and receipts and wait for their denial. Then they said they would get involved.

Needless to say, I am limping today.

Who knew that surge protectors were a one time use item? They all smoke and blow the circuit breakers when plugged in.

Mornin' y'all,

The great struggle to whittle down The List continues, film at eleven.

Jim, sorry to hear about the fried electronics. Take no prisoners. It's sounds like the Power Company is eventually going to find out that it would have been cheaper to have just replaced that transformer before it blew instead of replacing all the blown electronics in your neighborhood. I assume that's the same transformer that tripped it's own breaker a couple of times recently?

is on, help yourself

Morning All

Jim, sorry to hear about your problems! I hope you get everything fixed soon, that sucks.

Cleo, hope you feel better soon.

I've spent the last week (time flies) working on a new avs site, and working on my back porch. We put lattice up on the sides now 1/2 way down, and we went into vegas to get more lattice yesterday, so we can put it down to the ground. We also bought a 100' roll of shade cloth that we are going to try and climb on the roof of the new porch and staple to the top. That way, we will have pretty good shade.
how it looks so far It has been in the mid 70s here the last few days, so spending a lot of time outdoors working on things.

Hope everything is going well with everyone else!

Morning all,

Sorry to hear about that power situation Jim. We had something similar in our house 2 times already. Fried most of the electronics here to.

Tonight is the annual party from the soccer club I'm in so that's going to be fun fun fun again, or not...

Have a nice day all.

Good morning world

My cable installer is officially half an hour late. One of their trucks was at my neighbor's house about an hour ago, but it left without stopping here. I called to check on what happened and their CSR told me everything is fine, that's just the way they schedule things, and that someone should be here by 10 am. ... Yeah, right...not.

Still, that's a lot better than having some of my electronics fried. Sorry to hear about that Jim. And better than still having a cold too. Get well soon to Ponygirl and to Cleo.

And a good day to all.

Well, I just spoke to my wife, who is a licensed stooge for a major insurance company, and she said CALL YOUR INSURANCE COMPANY. Your homeowners policy should give you the fastest relief and the insurance company will then subrogate the loss against the power company's own insurance carrier.

Well, I would prefer losing a surge protector rather than losing the equipment behind it, but, definitely a pain in the butt situation to be sure.

Plenty of work on tap for today testing a few things.

I just keep finding more and more things that don't work. It really isn't about the money after an hour nap. Now I am just pissed that they knew about it since Superbowl Sunday. And we are still 5 days away from a new transformer that needs to be ordered. I am looking forward to going to the village comminssion board meeting Monday night with my huge Monster Cable surge protector and letting the board know what their screwup did.

Now if it happens again, that's a different story. I can manage the money until someone forces these pricks to cut me a check personally.

We have heat now. We spent the night running all our fireplaces and both ovens. It got down to about 45 degrees.
