good option is to have one server at home
(it can be also your router etc.)
with same settings as your domains (but with .lan extention for example- original site www.mysexlist.com and www.mysexlist.lan)

you can then test everything before it goes on-line

and like Urb said - backup, backup, backup

(my server is making daily backups - first on my comp (in special backup directory), second on cd (when inserted))
