Generally, you cannot acquire a trademark on a dictionary or commonly used word. One could not legally trademark the word
Temptresses.
The word Danger, for example, could not be trademarked. Neither the name Dave. But if one was creative enough to combine the two, thus creating a new word or brand, then you'd have a trademark.
