AVS is tough for less sales from the internal linkslist these days. If you are not doing sexkey though, I would give them a go. Their rules are lax enough so as not be a pain and where you can still make money. $20 per psuedo-free join is nice too.

You have a fake TGP? Is http://fuckyourgovernment.com/ yours? If so, I submit there every once in a while and got a kick out of the name. I hope you cross your t's and dot your i's on your tax returns though! LOL

Use each thing to bring in new traffic (i.e. Though it is good to keep them in your network of sites, do more than just pass traffic to each of your sites as far as traffic sources go). Each blog can easily add 200 - 1000 extra fresh new visitors a day with basic free marketing (be creative, I can't give too much away unfortunately).

Keep in mind a golden rule that some don't learn right away - vary your traffic sources as much as possible. Don't keep taking from the same pool of surfers as there is diminshing returns from them. Especially if you are always selling the same thing.

is it worth it to use a header graphic like im using or again should text be used?

Use text and put it in H1 tags - much better from an SE perspective. Fancy graphic header may look nice, but thats not really the objective - you want traffic and ultimately sales.
