Text and Custom Recips Tables

Thanlks for all the replies...do you look at the graphic recip and get ideas, or do you just get creative? I'm sure there's probably a happy medium somewhere, but what is the best way to approach it?

EDIT:

here's the first one I have tried...it's is for a Cyberage avs site. Dows it look OK?

Recips are about 3 times too large if you ask me. They don't have to take up half the page.

I also agree with Spacemans way of thinking. It is more beneficial IMHO for submitters to use their own custom anchor text so that the linklist owner doesn't end up with 10,000 identical recip links pointing to his page.

I'm not trying to call you out or bust your balls, but when you say "I have tried," what does that mean? Does it mean, "here's a recip table I pretty much copied from one of Sheepguy's sites"? If he doesn't mind, then I don't care either.

As long as the font color and size are readable by human beings, I'm easily pleased with homemade recips. And I've always liked Sheepy's recips because they are BIG. So many free site builders go out of their way to make the recip text almost unclickably small or use a font color which is far too similar to the background color. Trust us, you aren't losing much traffic on a free site to those recips.

Hey! I resemble that remark! My monitor has a bit of a greenish tint from spending too much time on this board when I should be working
