Good Sunday Morning :)

Well, after a night of making chili and cleaning up a very big mess from it and spending the night with my father watching movies I bought him a year ago but had to unwrap, here I am.

The best part of staying at my father's house with him is learning so much about my family I never knew. The worse part, getting up at 6 AM, going to my truck when it is 6 degrees and driving home. I turn the heat up to 85 just so I know I will be warm the very minute I walk in

Good morning!

I never get up this early at 6:30, unless I'm going golfing, but I could not sleep at all. Last time I go to bed at midnight. Work day has begun.

Jim will be the 1st to point out that I do infact own a Ford F250 - but it's my wife's! I swear to Buddah! I do drive it on occasion, but I am more of a Chevy man.

Jim will also point out that his truck is bigger then mine - this is called "Penis Envy"

Lots of sports on today - NHL All Star Game & NFL Pro Bowl - plus I have to get this pile of paperwork ready for my accountant, so I'll be on & off most of the day

Damn it is fucking cold as hell here this morning, only 50˚F so far.

My house guest that will not stop coming back over is suppose to be driving to NY today so I guess I'm finally rid of her for a bit. Not really sure as she said she was going out for a bit last night and I never heard from her again. It's so peaceful and quiet here this morning without her screaming on the phone in Russian, Portuguese, and English usually all at once.

Espresso is hot, come and get it…

Greenie, I was not going to mention how much bigger my truck is than yours But come on...how can you compare a Ford F350, Duelie Diesel with a Blazer? And by the way...I have no clue how to spell Duelie

Besides, this winter has taken it's toll on my truck. In one week, I backed into another truck, a car and a fire hydrant. Not to mention with all the snow and ice we have had, I have ripped off most of my mud flaps.

Sad sad day today.... Didnt realize GG liked Chevy's, do they even still exist? I mean can you actually still buy one these days?

Jim looks like you had a relaxing night after the Chili clean up, watched somew good movies I hope.

I spent my Saturday night falling asleep on the couch, waking up, falling asleep again.. Over and over, till about 1am when I called it quits, tapped out and went to bed.

My daughter woke me up at 9am today, which was good I dont like sleeping too late.

I think Ill have to hit Target or something today, maybe add to my already huge DVD collection or something, I sat around the house all day yesterday, which is fine for today too, but I need a little break and shopping might be just the break I need.

Have a good one everyone.

Thanks John...it was a nice night but, I did see all the movies we watched several times before. Although, it wasn't about movies.

The best thing for my father happened yesterday. Our last big snow storm had me at my father's house plowing and I looked out my side window and saw an old man. I dropped my window and he asked if I plowed for a living. I told him no and that I was doing it for my father. I asked where he lived and he told me around the corner and it was very important that he get his car out as soon as possible. I told him I would be there in 10 mins.

I went to his house and plowed his driveway and he just could not believe that I wouldn't accept any money from him. He told me that he didn't know there were still people like me around. I mean, this guy was 90 and both neighbors on each side of him had snowblowers and yet, he was left to shovel. He then told me he had to get out to take his lady friend to breakfast. I told him, I would see him next snowstorm.

Yesterday, he brought me a loaf of bread to my father's house that his lady friend had baked for me. I wasn't there so my father invited him in and they talked for almost 2 hours. It seems that this man had not only lost his wife but both of his sons in Vietnam. And yet, he has managed to go on and even has a girlfriend at 90 years of age.

For the first time since my Mother's death, my father said yesterday, "I guess life does go on".

The first vehicle I owned back on the farm was a 53 Chevy, 5 speed automatic which is the look that the new one is based on.

Amber, eeeekkk I dont like that new truck, it only looks 1% acceptable when it has the top down, other than that, Ill pass on it.

Jim, ya know what? Thats a great story, excellent, I already had a ton of respect for you, but that's over the top and only if the rest of the world could be a tad bit like that what a place it would be.

It just goes to show what goes around comes around, through helping this guy, you in turn have some sort of solice in knowing that when he spoke with your Dad it may have helped him a bit, which in turn helps to ease your mind (and those cold mornings at 6am).

Way to go Jim.

I like my Chevy and plan on buying another one, but it is pretty useless for going to Home Depot or picking up someone at the airport.
